Para Dos Park (PDP) is a nonprofit origination. PDP is intended to be mostly free and easy to use. We want to keep PDP fun to use, interesting and also educational.

Why Dos? Dos is very open with its hardware. You can talk to the hard ware directly  if you want. Dos codes in general are easier to write.  Dos is free. A lot of the Dos programs are free. Dos is very stable. Dos execute very fast. Dos is compact and not a memory hog. 

Dos is dead! NO!  Dos will never die. Although Microsoft has announced that Dos is dead, they still use Dos like files to startup there windows system. My system32 folder has more the 200 Dos files. A lot of then are used to start up windows. You can not start up the protected mode CPU without doing some stuff in real mode. This is the Dos environment. Also when I was hit with a nasty virus, I could not get in to windows or safe mode. I had to rely on the recovery console mode to do the repairs, witch  is a Dos like system, with some 30 Dos programs to help with the repair.  The commands were very much like the standard Dos commands.
