NEW DOS 4 U

Here is your “New Dos”.  Some Downloads are now ready. Dos, what is it?   Dos stand for “Disk operating system” and is an old single user and single program Disk operating system.  “New Dos” is a design style  Making use of a color monitor, mouse and other things,  Making the old Dos less crypt. There are 10s of thousands of Dos programs out there for very little money, many of then are free.  You may have some Dos disks with old programs and game laying around. Your new or old PC computer can easily be made to  run “Dos”. Just put your Dos disk into the floppy drive and and restart your computer. OOPS  What this! NO floppy drive. NO floppy disk.  No Dos. No problem. You need
 Para-Dos-Park.

Para Dos Park

“Para Dos Park” , we will call it “PDP” for short. PDP comes on a CD. PDP is a Ms-Dos like environment that runs old and new “Dos”  software on modern computers. You won’t need a floppy drive, floppy disk or Dos.  Best of all PDP is almost totally  free. Oops, whats with this “almost free” stuff ? This is not the old free internet, this is the new “Dot Com 2”. We are asking for a $5.00 dollar donation. You can get a totally free version elsewhere but you will have to assemble the PDP package yourself. Your will find it at

It is said that Ms-Dos written by Microsoft is the most popular Dos ever written. All Ms-Dos versions 1 - 6  still runs %100 on all  new computers. However some Dos prograns do not do well on the newer computers some very old programs well not run at all. They may even hang or crash the Dos system. More on this latter.  But with out a floppy drive and no room on your C drive for a Dos partition, no one wants to even attempt to run any Dos programs.  As far as I am concerned, Running out of a “Dos shell” (Dos running out of windows) is out of the question, because “Dos shell” have poor backward compatibility and limited standard Dos commands. If your Dos program runs under the windows that you are using, there is no guarantee that it will run under a different version of windows.

Here is the fix

Your computer needs to have 2 things, a CD ROM drive and a USB port.  Use the PDP CD disk as a boot device to startup your “USB memory pin stick”. The “USB memory pin stick” acts like having another hard drive. The “USB memory pin stick”  has all of your Dos file on it. Now you get to play with pure Dos. Tired of playing, pull the CD out and restart your computer windows system. Your hard drive is not modified in any way.

Go the Download the PDP file. Burn it to a blank CD. Restart the computer with the CD still in the drive and fallow the simple instructions
